Nebraskan Edmund Richard "Hoot" Gibson (1892 - 1962) was an all-round championship rodeo cowboy who became a movie star through the stunt man door. By 1921, with the insatiable demand for cowboy movies, Hoot was offered leading roles and became a box office attraction second only to Tom Mix. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Western Performers Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK.
