The Little Notebook
Among the souvenirs Bob Nolan left his grandson was found this little black notebook with an incomplete song on its pages. Moved by words that struck a chord in his own heart, Calin set them in order and published the poem as "In the Wind of Time".
As you can see in our logo picture, Bob was writing in such a notebook on location for Republic Studios when the Sons of the Pioneers were appearing with Roy Rogers. Tim Spencer and Bob were responsible for some of the songs in these movies and Bob obviously had a little spiral-bound notebook in his pocket at all times. He also wrote on napkins, on the back of fan letters, hotel notepaper and anything that came to hand when words to songs came to mind.
