Devastating Fire Destroys Bob Nolan's Life's Work
Late summer of 1948 (Calin Coburn Collection © 2004)
An unidentified photographer snapped this picture of Bob Nolan the night fire destroyed his garage which contained boxes of his lead sheets, lyrics and sheet music, poetry, pictures and memorabilia from his years with the Pioneers. It wiped out years of work and hundreds of unpublished songs. He never did attempt to re-write any of them. "I don’t go back to the past too damn much. I sometimes go back to try to find out what happened at what time but I don’t live in the past at all," he stated firmly. |
