The Jan Scott Collection Photos from Bob Nolan's Career & Movies
Jan Scott is a dedicated collector of thousands of movie publicity and production stills centering on Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers. She thinks nothing of traveling great distances to inspect photo collections offered for sale and is still finding pictures to fill the holes in her collection. Jan generously offered to scan a selection for us and, as time permits, she will be adding more photos from her vast collection so check this page from time to time. You will recognize a number of these photos but there are some you will find nowhere else but on this page.
Stationery from the first Sons of the Pioneers fan club in Pittsburgh, PA.
My cousin placed an ad in her local paper with a column called the Shopper Scout for Roy Rogers or Sons of the Pioneers memorabilia. Of the 3 who responded, one was a man with 8x10's. I have a few great ones of the SOP including Gene Autry's The Big Show with him and the band. Anyway, the items included a stack of stationary and envelopes from the SOP and RR fan club. The fellow told me that his aunt who died about 1982 owned these items. He knows his aunt never married and was quite frail, but she went to all kinds of western events. Apparently near my hometown is a town of Quakertown which housed the Sleepy Hollow Ranch. I also got a bunch of photos from there. Later I found that the lady who owned these photos was named Dorothy Guth and she was one of the original members of the Sons of the Pioneers first fan club. She lived in Allentown, PA. These were small photos to begin with. (Jan)
