 The Sons of the Pioneers

"The Aristocrats of the Range"

This section will deal only with the men who worked with Bob Nolan from 1932 - 1949. The founding group was Leonard Slye, Tim Spencer and Bob Nolan - "The Pioneer Trio". In 1934-35, Hugh Farr and Karl Farr joined to form the "Original" Sons of the Pioneers. When Leonard Slye left in 1937 to become Roy Rogers, Pat Brady and Lloyd Perryman were added to make the "Classic" Sons of the Pioneers. From 1943 - 1946, after Pat and Lloyd were drafted, Shug Fisher and Ken Carson joined the "Wartime" Sons of the Pioneers. When Pat and Lloyd returned from the war, they were once again "The Classic Sons of the Pioneers". Bob also worked briefly with Ken Curtis when Tim Spencer retired.
